Translational research on the cultivation of medicinal cannabis and the assessment of the botanical, chemical, and pharmacological properties of its components aims to promote the medicinal cannabis production chain in the region by addressing the production of plant material, post-harvest treatments, and the extraction of medicinal compounds.

The implementation of agroecological practices in combination with high-precision analytical techniques aims to design cultivation systems that have a low environmental impact, are highly productive and sustainable over time, and whose products meet international pharmaceutical quality standards.
