Research stay in Calgary University, Canada

PhD Paula N. González, Director of the Research Group on Phenotypic Variation and Neurodevelopment of the ENyS, is undertaking networking scientific activities at Dr. Benedikt Hallgrímsson Laboratory, Calgary University, Canada.

The ENyS develops research projects on evolutionary and developmental biology, particularly on the development and plasticity of the brain, and quantification of complex biological structures. In the context of these investigations, the working group maintains collaborative projects with researchers from Hallgrímsson Laboratory in Canada. The activities to be developed during the stay include obtaining and analysing computed microtomography of the brain in animal models in order to study the effects of nutritional stress on the anatomical-structural development of cortical and subcortical regions.
